There were two assignments that made me feel most successful. The project in English 100 which was to create a vision board that expressed what you want in the future. The class was instructed to vote for three boards in three different categories. I won for Most Authentic. My board was neatly organized and you could definitely see what my goals and dreams were in life. To me, it was an accomplishment because I was only in college for three days and was already being awarded. For me to have won, the class recognized my work ability. It was not just a proud moment for me, but when I showed my mom the award, she too was proud. That feeling made me feel over joyed. The second assignment was from Counseling 17, a career planning course that is geared to helping you prepare for the career of your choice. The instructor gave an assignment to create a media display or poster that explained how you got here, what were your plans there, and what are the plans for the future. This assignment itself registered success for me because I saw the steps it took me to be where I am and the plans for where I am going and it was unbelievable. It made me realize that I have come a long way. I was able to see my destiny right before my eyes on that PowerPoint. To top it off, out of all the presentations, the professor wanted a copy of mine. She liked the way I created and presented it and wanted to share it with others. Through these assignments, I have learned that my work is looked at to be something great. That I can create extraordinary things that people will grade and want to pass on. | |
